At Chata, we build and offer a range of AI technologies, applications, implementation capabilities and services, hereinafter collectively referred to as “Services”. These Services encompass Chata’s website and all commercial offerings (including APIs, AutoQL app for Microsoft Teams, AutoQL Add-in for Microsoft Excel, web apps, platforms, and portals, widgets and any other third-party implementations of our technologies).

This privacy policy explains how we use your “Personally Identifiable Information” (PII). PII, as described in Canadian privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, disclose, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our Services. By submitting your PII, you signify your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your PII in accordance with this policy.

What personal information do we collect from the people that visit or use our Services?

When using our Services you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number or other details to help us enable a secure and successful experience. Other information may be collected from our web applications/portals (such as credit card information) in cases where both parties have mutually entered into a paid service agreement.

When do we collect information?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to a newsletter, fill out a form, agree to use our Services, or access any of our commercial offerings.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up to receive communications or content, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, use our Services and any features thereof, or access any of our commercial offerings in the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested
  • To improve our Services to better serve you
  • To allow us to provide more custom responses to your service requests
  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature
  • To ask for ratings and reviews of services or products
  • To follow up with you after correspondence (live chat, email or phone inquiries)
  • To process transactions, authenticate you when logging in, provide customer support, and/or operate and maintain our Services
  • To improve our Service offerings

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your PII when you access or submit information to us through any of our Services.

Our Services are scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your experience as safe as possible.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and who are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

Regarding our Services, all communication with Chata takes place through a REST-based HTTPS API deployed in a managed Cloud Endpoint offering, or through a secure network-to-network connection. Since Chata runs entirely inside of a managed cloud platform, we are protected holistically by the cloud service provider’s enterprise grade security policy. Please see our API security architecture document for further details on our data protection policies and procedures related to storing, retaining, and deleting data.

All transactions are processed through our gateway provider, Stripe, and are not stored or processed on our servers.

How do we use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?

Cookies and other tracking technologies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer through your web browser, mobile app, or other online platform (if permitted). We use cookies to let our site or systems recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. We also use cookies and tracking technologies to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which lets us provide you with improved services.  Cookies are also used to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings.

If you turn cookies off, some of the features that make your site experience more efficient may not function properly.

How do we share the information we collect?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information unless we provide you with advance notice. However, we may share information with website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, operating our commercial services and offerings, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when its release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property or safety.

We do not include or offer third-party products or services on our website.

Along with third-party vendors and search engines such as Google, we use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website. Users can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Settings page. Alternatively, you can opt out by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative Opt Out page or by using the Google Analytics Opt Out Browser add on.

What security is in place to prevent disclosure of PII?

To protect your PII, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

To learn more about current practices and policies regarding security and confidentiality of PII and other information, please see our Security page; we keep that document updated as these practices evolve over time.

We may change this privacy policy from time to time.  We will post any privacy policy changes, including the date this policy was last updated, on this page. We encourage you to review our privacy policy whenever you use our Services to stay informed about our information and the ways you can help protect your privacy.

If you disagree with any changes to this privacy policy, you will need to stop using our Services and deactivate your account(s), as outlined below.
